"I don't make hell for nobody. I'm only the instrument of a laughing providence. Sometimes I don't like it myself, but I couldn't help it if I was born smart."

Paul Valery

"You are in love with intelligence, until it frightens you. For your ideas are terrifying and your hearts are faint. Your acts of pity and cruelty are absurd, committed with no calm, as if they were irresistible. Finally, you fear blood more and more. Blood and time."

The Wisdom of the Ages

"When a young man, I read somewhere the following: God the Almighty said, 'All that is too complex is unnecessary, and it is simple that is needed',"

Random Shit

As the title says, I've got no overarching theme here. About a week ago I stuck my car in the ditch and I'm still pissed and (physically) sore and my heart isn't into much.
An amusing find last night whilst doing one of my random searches of "Confederate Bowie Knife". Later came to find out, it was posted by one of my loyal customers (HI, Kevin!). Anyway, here's the link. the thrust being that there may be a reason my products have a hard time passing the scrutiny of the Brit bureaucrats.
The photo: I keep finding this thing and then shitcanning it because all the photos are so awful. Only two (I think) were made and the country of origin, Russia, wasn't the picture of stability in 1915. It's an experimental tank. Thirty foot front wheels to span trenches, Thirty-six tons, I think. It went nowhere but what a cool thing. Just a giant backwards tricycle. if you can read Russian you may find the article interesting.
