Paul Valery

"You are in love with intelligence, until it frightens you. For your ideas are terrifying and your hearts are faint. Your acts of pity and cruelty are absurd, committed with no calm, as if they were irresistible. Finally, you fear blood more and more. Blood and time."

The Wisdom of the Ages

"When a young man, I read somewhere the following: God the Almighty said, 'All that is too complex is unnecessary, and it is simple that is needed',"

Whither Sgt. Bob?

While obsessively following up on the Three-Bearsish, "who's been looking at my blog?" website, I found out that some had gone a-Googling, looking for my "Discounted to Servicemen" knuckle knife.
Pictured above, it's a variation of a brass-handled, WW2, private-purchase knife from New Zealand. 7 1/2" blackened, double-edged blade, OD aluminum knuckleduster handle and a rough-out, cowhide sheath.
I'd like to apologize. I took it off the website mostly because the original guy it was named for showed a political leaning that I was unable to support. My intention is to revive it, only to have it instead named after the "other Sgt. Bob" my old papa, SSgt Robert Brock, FSSF.
It is available, for the same money, $50 for active duty folks and $120 for everyone else, shipping included.
