"You are in love with intelligence, until it frightens you. For your ideas are terrifying and your hearts are faint. Your acts of pity and cruelty are absurd, committed with no calm, as if they were irresistible. Finally, you fear blood more and more. Blood and time."

I Knew There Had To Be One Left Alive Somewhere.

An intelligent conservative/libertarian with a sense of humor that is.
P. J. O'Rourke, Weekly Standard, from waaaay back in November.

Our attitude toward immigration has been repulsive. Are we not pro-life? Are not immigrants alive? Unfortunately, no, a lot of them aren't after attempting to cross our borders. Conservative immigration policies are as stupid as conservative attitudes are gross. Fence the border and give a huge boost to the Mexican ladder industry. Put the National Guard on the Rio Grande and know that U.S. troops are standing between you and yard care. George W. Bush, at his most beneficent, said if illegal immigrants wanted citizenship they would have to do three things: Pay taxes, learn English, and work in a meaningful job. Bush doesn't meet two out of three of those qualifications. And where would you rather eat? At a Vietnamese restaurant? Or in the Ayn Rand Café? Hey, waiter, are the burgers any good? Atlas shrugged. (We would, however, be able to have a smoke at the latter establishment.)

"Bush doesn't meet two out of three of those qualifications."

I don't think Obama meets more than one of these qualifications either. He's definitely showing his lack of experience and willingness to be led around by the nose so far.

He's only been in office two months and he's already pissed away more money than Dubya did in his entire 8 years.

I hope Obama get's better with experience but with the entire Clinton gang running the show for him I kind of doubt it.

I'll be pee-my-pants-happy if Obama turns out to be simply a mediocre president.
It'll be like God himself is running the country after Little George.
But, I think no matter what happens we're screwed for a while.
Thankfully I'm so close to the bottom of the food-chain that I haven't far to fall.
Not like the poor geek I saw on Yahoo yesterday: Ex $750K a year CEO "reduced" to delivering pizzas.
It's shameful, I know but I just can't help feeling just a little schadenfreude.
Sucks to be him.
